What is ESG?
Environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) is a means by which stakeholders gain transparency about their environmental and social performance using a rating, ranking or index system. The ESG approach helps firms maximise financial performance while strengthening long-term value creation. Examples of ESG reporting KPIs include statistics on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and data on gender equality for management and employees overall.
