Leading Risk Software Firm Adds Pandemic Mapping, Tracking, Communication, and Audits To Robust Toolbox On Popular Platform For Pandemics, Disasters and Outages

CHICAGO, April 1, 2020 – Origami Risk, the industry-leading risk, safety and insurance Software as a Service (SaaS) technology firm, it has added several new solutions to its industry-leading risk management information system (RMIS) to help employers address exposures related to COVID-19.

“As the COVID-19 crisis has spread globally, our client teams have been working closely with individual clients to build new solutions that help address the many ways the virus is impacting business operations and employee health and safety,” said Earne Bentley, president, Risk Solutions at Origami Risk. “These solutions result from our ongoing collaboration with each of our clients to make configurations and build new functionality that meets their emerging needs.”

The new solutions leverage Origami Risk’s versatile platform to facilitate rapid responses to the dynamic COVID-19 crisis and are readily accessible on desktops, laptops, as well as on various mobile devices. They include:

  • Online mapping/visualization (GIS tools). Publicly available incident data feeds (such as the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 case map) can be combined with employer locations throughout the U.S. and worldwide to enable employers to spot locations affected by the crisis for prioritizing planning and communication activities.
  • Status audits. Employers can quickly configure and conduct custom audits to track health and safety concerns to help project operational impacts across the enterprise. As individual locations self-report and statuses relative to COVID-19, management can continually monitor the impact locally and enterprise-wide.
  • Exposure tracking. Dedicated portals and online forms enable employers to capture and track critical COVID-19 related data – such as testing statuses, quarantine dates, employee leave notifications, follow-up activity, communication with affected employees, travel exposure – and generate aggregated status reports for management.
  • Location-specific disaster notifications. Employers can prepare checklists and mail-merge communication documents triggered by location of incidents to ensure the appropriate information (such as that regarding quarantine periods, operational and work impacts, travel exposures and related matters) is disseminated to specific individuals on a timely basis. They can also collect and store contact details for all locations, as well as key vendors, business partners, customers and other stakeholders.

The new solutions build on Origami Risk’s extensive existing online tools and resources that help employers plan for, monitor and manage the impact of pandemics and disasters. They include integrated solutions to support and facilitate enterprise risk management (ERM), governance, risk and compliance (GRC), disaster recovery and business continuity management, and safety and loss prevention. Additionally, various tools and functions in Origami provide real-time information and continual updates for decision-makers at all levels on their emergency preparedness, crisis response, supply chain resiliency, facility closures and operational curtailments, and compliance with rapidly evolving government requirements on operations, employee compensation and benefits.
